St. Paul police shoot person near Snelling and University avenues

St. Paul cops shot an individual on Monday night near Snelling and University avenues.

The person was taken to Regions Hospital. Information wasn’t immediately available about his condition.

No officers were injured within the incident just before 8 p.m.

Initial emergency radio dispatches indicated that officers responded to reports of gunshots. Police on the scene relayed there was a male walking in the realm and that he had a gun to his own head. After a while, an officer called for medics to come back into the realm.

The Minnesota Bureau of Criminal Apprehension said Monday night that they were responding to research. St. Paul police said they plan to release additional information in the approaching hours.

Metro Transit announced on social media at 8:04 p.m. that Green Line service is blocked on University Avenue and Snelling Avenue on account of police activity, and there are alternative buses. Trains are running from Union Depot Station to Western Avenue, and Fairview Station to Goal Field.
